HOWARD COUNTY, MD — In an effort to increase social distancing during the new coronavirus pandemic, Walmart stores in Howard County are implementing one-way aisles. The change took effective Thursday.

“There will be floor decals in place to help indicate the direct traffic flow. You will find green ‘Shop This Way’ decals indicating the entrances of each aisle,” Walmart said in a Facebook post Tuesday. “You will find red ‘Do Not Shop This Way’ decals to tell opposing traffic not to enter the aisle.”

Walmart announced in a news release April 3 it would implement one-way movement through the stores, in order to “promote health, safety and consistency for our associates and customers in this environment.”
