Water Service Restored to 600-Plus HoCo Residents
Howard County officials said water main break caused water service interruption.

Due to a water main break, more than 600 Howard County residents, mainly in Elkridge, were without water for much of the day Friday.
At 8:55 a.m. on Friday, Howard County reported that water was shut off in neighborhoods around Deep Run Elementary School, which was closed for the day as a result of the water main break.
Areas south of Waterloo Road, including Pirch Way, were among those affected. The break occurred on Waterloo Road, and residences in the area near MD 108 and MD 175 were impacted, Howard County reported.

Water was back on by 2:45 p.m., according to a report from county officials, who initially said it could have taken up to 12 hours to restore water service.
Cold temperatures and the depth of the main were factors in the length of shutoff, WBAL reported.
