What's Open, Closed In Howard County On Good Friday, Easter, Passover 2022

Patch has the scoop on what's open and closed across Howard County for Good Friday, Easter and Passover.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Government offices, 50+ centers and the county animal shelter will be closed in observance of the Good Friday holiday on April 15. Maryland courts and the county’s Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open and there will be regular Friday curbside trash, recycling, food scrap and yard trim collections.

County parks, the Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter Community Centers, and Robinson Nature Center will be open on Good Friday; however, the Cedar Lane and Schooley Mill Activity Rooms and the Meadowbrook Athletic Complex will be open only for scheduled programs.

While county recreation and parks community centers and facilities will be closed Sunday, April 17, for the Easter holiday, county parks will remain open. The Ellicott City B&O Station Museum will be open Friday, but will be closed on Sunday. Other county historic sites in Ellicott City will reopen for the season April 30.

The Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a regular weekday schedule. All parking regulations and fees will be enforced on Good Friday, but not Easter Sunday.

The 9-1-1 Center, police and fire departments remain staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For emergencies, call 9-1-1; for non-emergencies, call 410-313-2200.

The Howard County Public School System is on spring break April 11-18.

The Howard County Library System will be closed April 15 and April 17.

Post offices will be closed Sunday only.
