Wind Advisory Calls For Possibly Damaging Gusts
BREAKING: Weather officials say driving may be difficult in parts of Maryland due to windy conditions.

BALTIMORE, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for parts of Maryland.
Trees and power lines may be damaged, with gusts up to 50 mph, according to the advisory, which is effective until 6 a.m on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Driving may be difficult in high-profile vehicles.
In Maryland, the weather service placed the following under the advisory as of 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23: Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Washington counties as well as Baltimore City.

The following cities in Maryland are included in the wind advisory: Aberdeen, Baltimore, Bethesda, Cockeysville, Columbia, Damascus, Eldersburg, Ellicott City, Frederick, Germantown, Hagerstown, Jarrettsville, Lisbon, Reisterstown, Rockville, Silver Spring, Washington and Westminster. The District of Columbia and parts of Virginia are also under the advisory.
Weather officials said south winds will be 15 to 30 mph and gusts may be up to 50 mph. Stronger winds may be concentrated near and west of Interstate 81 and I-95 overnight, according to the advisory.

Driving may be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles, weather officials advised.
Wind warnings were issued for the Bay Bridge after 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Under a wind warning, sustained wind speeds or wind gusts are 30-39 mph, and drivers of these vehicles should use caution: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.
Showers may hit between midnight and 5 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, with damaging wind gusts and severe thunderstorms possible. There is a gale warning in effect on the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River through Tuesday morning.
