HOWARD COUNTY, MD — One lucky winner hailing from Howard County has more than 100 days to claim his or her Dec. 30 winnings after nabbing $50,000 in the Powerball drawing.
The $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was bought at Harpers Farm BP at 5485 Harpers Farm Road in Columbia. Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s state of emergency pertaining to the coronavirus pandemic.
The $50,000 winner can claim the prize immediately by mail or in person by appointment starting Jan. 4 at the Lottery headquarters’ customer resource center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
