Woman In Columbia Assaulted By Trick-Or-Treater: Police

Police said a teen assaulted a woman in Columbia and stole candy on Halloween night.

COLUMBIA, MD — Police said a Columbia woman was assaulted when she opened the door on Halloween. Instead of greeting her with the customary "trick or treat," police allege a teen slapped the resident and stole her candy.

The assault occurred around 6:38 p.m. on Oct. 31, according to the Howard County Police Department.

It took place when a group of teens came to the door in the 6300 block of Windharp Way, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, according to authorities, who said nobody was seriously injured.
