Howard County Woodland Road Stream Restoration Project Discussed At May 3 Meeting

The Woodland Road stream restoration project will be discussed at a May 3 meeting. Work will begin this summer and take 5 months to finish.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The community is invited to a public meeting May 3 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss plans for the Woodland Road stream restoration project. The meeting will be held at The Linden Hall, 4765 Dorsey Hall Drive, in Ellicott City.

The informal meeting will include an overview of the project followed by an open discussion. County staff and representatives from the project’s design consultant will be on hand to answer any questions and gather public comments.

The project calls for stabilizing a section of a stream near the 4000 block of Woodland Road in Ellicott City using wood and rock structures. Bio-engineered plantings also will be used to re-establish a more natural stream, reduce instream erosion, improve water quality and protect the newly upgraded forced main sewer and the existing gravity sewer main from future erosion.
