Anyway this is my first blog post on the Patch. It's kind of a big deal for me so I want to get it right. I think I'm just going to talk about something simple.

I know, no one really wants to talk about school, especially when its almost over and summer is within reach but i think this is kind of a cool topic.
Let me make this clear. I do NOT think school is cool (hahaha that rhymed!) I know its important and it prepares you for the future and blah blah blah. I think it's just a glorified babysitting facility where parents send their kids so that they don't have to worry about them all day every day. I know, harsh. And i apologize to those who like school. I actually am considering being at a school for the rest of my life (teaching.)

So then why are you bashing school if you want to become a teacher?
Fabulous question. I just don't like the way that school makes it seem like it dictates our lives. First of all we spend 7 1/2 hours in school everyday and then we end up doing five hours of homework. I don't know about you but there's only so much my attention span can take before I zone out for the day.
Even now as I'm sitting in school waiting for the bell to ring to send me to another class where I have to try to make it look like that subject is way more important than any other subject, I'm thinking about the weekend, summer, jobs, friends, sports and tv.
Those are my cons for school.
The pros are why I do it.
