Health & Fitness

Where do I START?

Were to start with a fitness program.

Most people when it comes to working out they have no idea where to start….3 sets, 4 sets, 8 reps or 15 reps…hmmm what to do! There is so much information out there it becomes overwhelming…ugh! I know the feeling. I have some questions to help get you moving in the right direction. The first thing you need to do is define your goal. This comes before ANYTING!!! Goal Setting 101!! Once you answer these questions, write them down so you will have a bigger picture of exactly what to do.

#1. What are your specific goals that you want to achieve in working out?

#2. What are 3 immediate specific goals that you are absolutely committed to achieving in the next month regarding your fitness?

These are just some of the questions I ask myself in reaching my personal fitness goals. Another really powerful thing that I do is, I create a vision board….YES, it might sound cheesy but it works!  I break out my fitness magazines and start clipping out sayings, articles, and pictures of fit women that I aspire to. This helps keep me motivated when times get tough. I look at my board and think, “I can do this!!!” I also leave extra room on my board to add more stuff along my journey. Above is a picture of my vision board. I look at it everyday.

Another really helpful tip is to keep a journal of your progress….everyday I write down what I eat, my exact workouts, reps, weights, sets, rest intervals….how I feel before and after a workout…everything! This is helpful to see how you are progressing towards your goals and to refer back to at a later date if needed.

Go out and get your journal and that vision board up! This is where you START.
