Community Blood Drive July 21 In Crofton

CROFTON, MD —The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a community blood drive July 21 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the chamber office, 2126 Espey Ct., Suite A, in Crofton. The blood drive is being held in conjunction with Anne Arundel Medical Center's Blood Donor Center. Every year, more than 3,000 Anne Arundel Medical Center patients receive lifesaving blood transfusions. All blood donated through the Blood Donor Center stays in the community.

During the summer, there tends to be a steep decline in blood donations. The Red Cross attributes this to busy summer schedules, vacations and school breaks typically. Right now, some people are hesitant to donate because of the coronavirus pandemic, but all safety guidelines will be adhered to during the July 21 blood drive.
