Crofton Copper Wire Thefts Total $100K; Two Men Arrested

Two Baltimore men are charged with stealing from a Crofton construction business where more than $100,000 in materials has been taken.

CROFTON, MD — Two Baltimore men were reportedly caught during a police stakeout of a Crofton construction business where more than $100,000 in materials had been stolen, and the duo charged with theft. Anne Arundel County Police say thousands of dollars worth of copper wire were stolen in recent months from Rock Creek Construction Company, 1220 Cronson Blvd. in Crofton.

Detectives reportedly identified the suspects responsible for the thefts, but were unable to locate them to serve arrest warrants. Assuming the suspects would strike again, police set up surveillance of Rock Creek Construction, and reportedly saw two men stealing from the business just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

A patrol car stopped the suspect vehicle, and officers allegedly found copper wire worth more than $2,500 stolen from the construction firm. Both occupants of the vehicle — Kim Everett Fahrenbach of Baltimore and Robert Elmer Prosser, 36, of Baltimore — were arrested and taken to Western District.
