Crofton Sunoco Station Robber Arrested: Police

A Crofton man who reportedly tried to rob a Sunoco gas station armed with a knife is charged with robbery, police say.

CROFTON, MD — A Crofton man who reportedly tried to rob a Sunoco gas station armed with a knife on April 16 is charged with robbery, police say. The robbery was reported about 11:32 p.m. that night at 1025 Route 3 in Crofton.

Clerks told Anne Arundel County Police that a man came into the gas station with a knife and demanded cash. The robber fled before obtaining any money.

Police issued a description of the suspect as a white man, 5’7”-6’0”, 150-160 pounds, with a thin build. He wore a black Orioles baseball cap, black ski mask, black long-sleeve sweatshirt, blue jeans, grey sneaker with white bottoms, and carried a buck-style knife.

On Thursday, Anne Arundel County Police say they identified the suspect as John Rodger Sausnock, 28, of the 1500 block of Falstone Lane in Crofton. He is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
