(Update) Boyfriend In Custody For Crofton Woman's Murder: Police

Authorities say a Crofton man killed his girlfriend Sunday night and then fled; Ryan Hollebon was arrested in Baltimore on Monday.

(Updated at 5:55 p.m.) CROFTON, MD — A Crofton man sought by Anne Arundel County Police on murder charges after his girlfriend was killed at the home they shared was arrested in Baltimore Monday afternoon, police say. Authorities searched for Ryan Gregory Hollebon, 38, of the 1700 block of Carry Place in Crofton, in the death of Jhalandia Elaine Butler, 28, of the same address, since Sunday night.

Hollebon was taken into custody in the 1300 block of East Patapsco Avenue in Baltimore City, police said. They released no details on how they found the suspect.

Police received a call about domestic violence about 9:24 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at the house in the 1700 block of Carry Place in Crofton. Officers arrived at the scene to find Butler suffering from apparent trauma lying inside the residence. Fire department personnel pronounced the victim, Butler, dead. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy on the victim to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Police suspect Hollebon of killing Butler; he ran from the house before police arrived. Air, K-9 and multiple patrol units searched the area for Hollebon throughout the night, but he was on the loose until Monday afternoon.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the house on Carry Place, and evidence technicians are scouring the residence for evidence in the murder. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hollebon charging him with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and deadly weapon with intent to injure in Butler's death.

Anne Arundel County Police ask anyone who comes in contact with Ryan Hollebon or knows his whereabouts to call 911.
