Crofton Youngsters Wrapping Up Seasons on a Roll
The 8-U boys beat the SCYA Storm over the weekend, while the 13-U team stayed perfect in county play.

The Crofton 8-under boys made life miserable for the SCYA Storm III team last Saturday.
Crofton used a balanced offense and almost perfect defense en route to a 20-0 victory over SCYA Storm . The team improved to 6-2 this season in the 8-U “C” North Carolina division.
Trey Quarto received the team’s game ball for the solid defense he played. He also didn’t commit any turnovers in the game.

Jordan Dabney, Sean Leonard and David Roy played well on both offense and defense as Crofton proved too much for SCYA. Crofton raced out to a 12-0 halftime lead and never had a problem from there. The team’s trapping defense gave SCYA big troubles and helped set up good chances on offense.
“The team is playing really well,” said coach Andy Stangroom. “[They have] improved on offense with efficient passing and better shots.”

Crofton wraps up the regular season this weekend with games on Saturday (SCYA Storm 1) and Sunday (SRYA Blue).
The 13-under boys team stayed perfect in Anne Arundel County play last weekend, rolling to a 50-24 victory over MYPA.
That victory improved Crofton’s record to 8-0 in the Anne Arundel County league and 12-4 for the entire season.
Tyler Tullos paced the team with 11 points, and Jalen Gillespie added 10. He also got seven rebounds, as did teammate Kyle Markovic.
Coach Bert Taylor said the team needed a little bit of time to settle down in this game.
“We didn’t execute our offense well in the first half,” Taylor said. “We calmed down in the second half and executed very well. This was very important as we go into a difficult part of our schedule."
The Anne Arundel County league is scheduled to have its final regular-season weekend this weekend, unless there are games that were moved back because of the bad weather. Check with the teams or on the league’s web site–which wasn’t completely updated as of Monday night–to see where each team stands.
