Crownsville Driver Flown to Hospital After Crash
Anne Arundel County Police say speed and alcohol may have been a factor in the roll-over accident; the driver was critically injured.

Speed and alcohol may have caused a single-vehicle car crash Saturday night in Herald Harbor, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
The accident was reported just after 7 p.m. on Old Herald Harbor Road near H. Diggs Road in Herald Harbor.
Investigators say a 1971 Triumph convertible driven by Terry T. Thompson, 49, of Crownsville was northbound on Old Herald Harbor Road. Thompson’s car left the road, struck and severed a telephone pole, then flipped over onto the roof.

Thompson was flown by police helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical, life-threatening injuries, police say.
The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be failure of the driver to remain in a single lane. Based on witness statements, speed and alcohol may also be a factor.
