Driver Critically Injured In Gambrills Crash
Anne Arundel County Fire crews had to extricate a driver trapped in his vehicle after a Gambrills crash.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Anne Arundel County Fire crews had to extricate a driver trapped in his vehicle after a Gambrills crash. The single-vehicle accident happened just after 10 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Annapolis Road near Claffy Avenue.
Fire officials said on their blog that the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. A 27-year-old man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was trapped and freed by firefighters in about 15 minutes. A Maryland State Police Medevac helicopter landed near the scene and took the patient to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with critical, possibly life-threatening, injuries.
Authorities have not released the victim's name, or a possible cause of the crash.
