A commemorative ceremony will kick off the day at 8:30 a.m. at the Maryland World War II monument on Ritchie Highway overlooking the park. Speaking at the ceremony will be Senator John Astle, representing Anne Arundel County, District 30, who served in U.S. Marine Corps as a captain and in U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
Volunteers should bring their own gardening gloves and any gardening tools they may have available, and wear closed-toe shoes.
