Registration is now open for SPAN (Serving People Across Neighborhoods)'s 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at Kinder Farm Park on October 1. SPAN, originally started as Severna Park Assistance Network, is an ecumenical ministry supported by multiple churches in and around Severna Park serving families in crisis. The race will benefit SPAN's ongoing efforts to offer food and financial assistance to those in need. T-shirts will be awarded to the first 200 registrants, and prizes will be given to top finishers in each race. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.; the fun run will begin at 9 a.m.
