Man Dies in Crofton Crash; Speed a Factor Say Police

The driver of a Toyota Corolla died when his car plowed into a truck slowing to turn at Route 3 and Defense Highway in Crofton.

A Bowie man was killed early Friday morning on Route 3 at Route 450 in Crofton when his car crashed into the rear of a construction truck slowing to make a turn.

Anne Arundel County Police say the accident was reported about 1 a.m. on MD Route 3 southbound and Defense Highway (Route 450) in Crofton.

A 2005 Toyota Corolla was southbound on Route 3 when it struck the rear of a construction truck slowing to turn at Defense Highway. The car’s driver -- David T. Dunmoye, 44, of Nestor Court in Bowie -- was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel.

The driver of the construction truck – Ivory C. Duckett, 60, of Kinderbrook Lane in Bowie -- was not injured. Reliable Contracting of Millersville owns the truck.

Police say speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
