Man Hospitalized with Head Wound from Robbery

A man was struck with a pipe or a pole when he was robbed in Crofton, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

CROFTON, MD — A wounded robbery victim drove himself to a Gambrills fire station for help after an assault in Crofton, police say.

The incident took place about 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 4 in the area of Jones Falls Court. A man getting out of his vehicle was approached by two white men who demanded money. When the victim said he had no money, one of the suspects pushed the man to the ground, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The victim said he was struck in the head by a hard object, possibly a pipe or pole. The suspects then ran from the scene. Police say the man got up and used his T-shirt to stop the bleeding from his head.

Authorities say the victim drove himself to Arundel Fire Station at 2380 Davidsonville Road in Gambrills, where he was treated for his injuries. He was later taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
