Man Robbed Outside Giant Food Store In Crofton

CROFTON, MD — A bicyclist riding behind the Giant Food store in Crofton was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night, Anne Arundel County Police say. The hold-up was reported just before 11 p.m. in the area of the store at 1161 Crain Highway.

Police were told the man was riding his bicycle at the rear of the shopping center when he was approached by a man with a handgun who demanded the victim’s bicycle.The victim complied and the suspect fled the area on the bicycle.

Officers searched for the robber with help from police K9 and helicopter units, but they did not locate the suspect.

The victim was not hurt during the hold-up.

Authorities say the robber is about 5’6”, has short hair, and was wearing red shorts.
