Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Crash: Police
A Hanover man suffered life-threatening injuries when his motorcycle was struck by a minivan in Harmans on Saturday, police say.

A Hanover motorcyclist is in critical condition at an area hospital after a minivan backed into him Saturday in Harmans, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Stephen N. Briggs, 56, of Hanover, was westbound on Dorsey Road when it struck the driver’s side of a Ford minivan pulling out from a driveway across from Sandalwood Court, police say. Briggs, who wore a helmet, was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The driver in the minivan -- Jon E. Curry, 65, of La Luz, NM -- was not hurt.

Investigators say the crash appears to have been caused by Curry’s failure to yield to traffic on the roadway. There were no signs of excessive speed or alcohol use.
Charges have not been filed.
