School of Rock Gambrills Introduces New Group Classes

Contact us to enroll today!

We believe that kids learn faster and better when they’re playing with other musicians. So, starting in October, School of Rock Gambrills will be offering the following group classes:

Little Wing (Ages 2 - 5). We believe that if we want children to love music, we should teach them with the music we love. Little Wing encourages children to make and recognize rhythms, sing and recognize pitch, exercise short and long term musical memory, develop listening skills, and build confidence through practice and performances with other children. Little Wing will be held on Saturdays at 10:30am, starting October 4th.

Rookies (Ages 6 - 8). In Rookies, young rockers learn pitch, rhythm and teamwork through musical games and group rehearsal of simple rock songs. The program is entirely group-based, so students learn how to play in a band right from the start. Rookies includes one weekly group rehearsal where students will experience the magic of playing all of the major rock instruments -- guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and vocals. Rookies classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:45pm, starting October 6th and October 8th.

Rock 101 (Ages 9 - 11). Rock 101 students master the basics while playing actual rock music, before jumping into the live shows in our Performance Program. Instructors teach songs that highlight the skills needed to build a strong foundation on each student’s musical instrument. The Rock 101 music program includes a weekly music lesson on guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, or vocals, plus a weekly group band rehearsal. Rock 101 students learn the basics of technique and music theory, and the dynamics of playing in a group. Rock 101 classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays at 4:15pm, starting October 6th and October 9th.
