Anne Arundel County police urge residents to designate a driver if they plan to drink on Sunday while attending a Super Bowl party.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Local police are urging Anne Arundel County Super Bowl fans to have a designated driver if their party plans include drinking.

Super Bowl 50 is Sunday, Feb. 7, and lots of game day socializing may include drinking, say Anne Arundel County Police.

So, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is urging football fans to call the play now: drinking OR driving. If you plan on drinking on Super Bowl Sunday, designate a sober driver to get you home safely.

  • Serve food and non-alcoholic beverages at the party.
  • Keep the phone numbers of local cab companies on hand and take the keys away from anyone who is considering driving drunk.
