CROFTON, MD — Four teenagers attempted to wait out Anne Arundel County Police after a Crofton pizza delivery driver was robbed, but eventually gave up. Authorities say at least two youths held up a pizza delivery driver just after midnight Saturday in the 2200 block of Tilghman Drive.

When the delivery driver arrived in the area, the workers was approached by two boys, one of whom displayed a handgun and demanded money from the driver. The victim complied and the suspects fled from the area, police say.

Witnesses reported seeing two or three boys running from the robbery scene and entering a residence in the 1900 block of Encinio Drive in Crofton. Police established a perimeter and tried to make contact with the people inside the two-story dwelling. When attempts to get the occupants to come out of the home failed, officers from the department’s Special Operations Section and detectives were called to the stand-off. After more than an hour, contact was eventually made with the occupants.
