It's back-to-school time, and here's a look at what's on tap this week.

Yes, it's true. The kids are out of your hair. Here's a reminder of what going on this week in the Crofton area.

Back to School

When: Monday for grades 1-5 and 6 and 9. Tuesday for grades 7 & 8. Kindergarten staggered the rest of the week. (Note that Four Seasons Elementary will start one day late due to construction.)

West County Chamber 'Tuesday Topics' Breakfast

When:  Tuesday, 8 a.m.
Where: , 329 Gambrills Rd., Gambrills.

Details: The chamber will host Ron Wineholt of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, who will talk about the Supreme Court decision on health care and its impact on businesses. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

Maryland Renaissance Festival

When: Saturday, and then all weekends through Oct. 21. 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Arundel Football vs. Annapolis.

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Annapolis High School.

Details: The Wildcats start their quest for a state title when they open on the road at Annapolis.

South River Football at Chesapeake

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Chesapeake High School

Details: The Seahawks look to get off to a good start against the Cougars in the opener for both teams.
