July 5 County Council meeting is the next phase in rezoning for Districts 6 and 7.

On Friday, Councilman Jerry Walker (R-Crofton), released his list of amendments to the county's comprehensive rezoning process for District 7. The amendments will be introduced at the meeting on Tuesday (July 5).
As part of the process, councilmembers are permitted to introduce amendments up to and including the first meeting in August.
Walker said in an email to constituents that he will likely be adding additional amendments to the bill until the August deadline.

The county's comprehensive rezoning process began in 2010, when applicants submitted proposals to county planners for property rezoning.
Comprehensive rezoning differs from piecemeal rezoning in that it is a legislative rather than an administrative process. Neighbors are not notified of changes and the changes can not be appealed. Zoning changes the council votes for are final.
