7-Eleven Opening at Dundalk, Holabird Intersection

The revamped convenience store is set to open Sept. 12.

The Dundalk Mart at the intersection of Dundalk and Holabird avenues is closing—kind of.

It’s actually becoming a 7-Eleven.

The official opening of Dundalk's newest 7-Eleven franchise is scheduled for Sept. 12, according to owner Perry Patel who has run for the past two years.

Previously, a High’s convenience store sat at the location.

“People love the 7-Eleven franchise,” Patel told Patch, explaining the decision to become part of the corporation. “The intersection is busy, but we have not been getting a lot of business. I think the move will attract more business.

“Being associated with 7-Eleven, we’ll have good food, good coffee, Slurpees and fountain soda,” Patel added.

The closest 7-Eleven stores are located on and Holabird Avenue, near Merritt Boulevard. A store on Dundalk Avenue is close, but there is no other convenience store at the Dundalk and Holabird intersection.

Technically, the address of the new 7-Eleven is 6700 Brentwood Avenue, but it’s accessible from the Dundalk and Holabird intersection.

New construction and changes are already underway inside the store, which will remain open through the overhaul.

A grand opening celebration, featuring special rollback prices on some items, has not yet been finalized, Patel said. He added, however, that it’s likely to be scheduled about two weeks after the Sept. 12 opening date.
