Officer Rescues Dog From Dundalk Rooftop

DUNDALK, MD — Baltimore County first responders came together Tuesday to rescue a dog that became stranded on the rooftop of a Dundalk townhouse.

The rescue, which took place at the 300 block of Pine Street, saw Officer A. Flores climb through the second-floor rear window of a neighboring home to reach the roof.

Once Flores was in position, "she sat down and calmly persuaded the dog to come to her," reads a release issued by the department.

Photos shared by the police department show the moment that members of the Baltimore County Fire Department assisted Flores and the dog off the rooftop.

Police said the dog likely got onto the roof through a window that had been left open at the townhouse, and that it wasn't able to go back inside due to the steep pitch of the rooftop.

The dog has been temporarily placed in the care of Animal Services until its owner can be located.
