Detectives Look for Missing Boater Near Edgemere

Police are searching waters around Edgemere after a boat with a dog and no person was discovered Tuesday, officials said.

At 11:49 a.m., authorities responded to the water between North Point State Park and Hart-Miller Island, where a 30-foot sailboat called “Memphis Traveler” was found, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Initially, the Coast Guard and Baltimore County fire personnel responded in search of an individual in need of rescue, the department reported.

After 1:30 p.m., the rescue mission was deemed a recovery operation as police took over the investigation, looking for a body, according to the report.
