North Point Road Reopens Following Barricade: Police

Authorities handling a warrant situation in Dundalk Wednesday had temporarily shut down area roads.

DUNDALK, MD (Update 2:15 p.m.) — All roads have reopened near North Point Road and Eastern Boulevard, Baltimore County police reported after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police had closed part of the road while trying to serve a warrant in the area.

Authorities said they had searched a home in the 600 block of North Point Road for a 27-year-old wanted man but did not locate him. As of 2:10 p.m., police reported the area had been cleared and roads reopened.

PREVIOUS REPORT: Police said that there was a barricade Wednesday afternoon near Berkshire Road at North Point Road.

Earlier in the day, law enforcement serving a warrant in the area had closed North Point between Eastern and Carson Avenue.

According to ABC 2 News, police had been trying to serve a warrant for attempted murder on a man who, in an attempt to avoid it, barricaded himself at his home in the 600 block of North Point Road.

Eastern Boulevard was closed to eastbound traffic in the area of North Point Road as of 1 p.m., transportation officials reported, a closure that began around 8:30 a.m.
