We have been working up to this even since we started
cleaning up the stream in 2009! We will attempt to clean from the Berkshire
Section to North Point Road in a single day! This Event will be part of the
Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. A single sweep clean like
this will have a huge impact and be an incredible victory for the health of the
stream, our community and the Chesapeake Bay! Volunteers of all ages and
abilities will be needed and greatly appreciated.
We will provide snacks, lunch, gloves, water and some
tools/waders to sign out for loan. (But bring your own if you have them). We
are also able to sign off on both Service Learning and Community Service Hours!
More detail will be available as the event draws closer.
Registration will open at 7 am, and we will hit the stream
at 8 am. Volunteer opportunities also exist for site preparation ton Friday
(9/20/13), early morning set up on the day of the cleanup and breakdown after
the event.
Volunteers, food, donations, and drivers with trucks are greatly appreciated!
This will be a huge milestone for us, come be a part of this incredible event!
