One Dundalk School Closed Wednesday Due to Weather

With a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Baltimore County on Wednesday, one private school in Dundalk made the decision to close for the day.

Calvary Baptist School issued the following message Wednesday morning:

Calvary Baptist school will be closed today 1/21.

Due to the forecast for poor and deteriorating weather conditions as we move through the morning and the possibility of early dismissal for all schools in the metro region at 11 a.m., we have decided to close school today.

This is [an] extreme inconvenience for all those involved because of the following:

1. We do not bus children home.
2. We do not have expanded after-care.
3. Many parents cannot get away from work to get their children.

I hope you can understand the predicament this type of forecast puts me in. I do not take snow days lightly nor give them freely.
