Red Mercedes Found from Hit and Run Crash: Police

Mercedes Benz suspected of hitting 13-year-old girl on Holabird Avenue has been located, police said.

DUNDALK, MD โ€“ Authorities say they have found the red Mercedes Benz with War of 1812 license plates that is believed to have been involved in a hit and run crash Thursday in Dundalk.

A 13-year-old girl had been crossing Holabird Avenue near Searles Road when she was hit by the car, driven by a white man with a white female passenger in the front seat, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Despite witnesses trying to prevent the driver from getting away, the vehicle left the scene and was last spotted near Lynch at Shore roads, according to officials, who reported Friday night they had found the vehicle.

The girl was taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center, where she was in stable condition, recovering from injuries police said were believed to be non life-threatening.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m., and residents in the area said that the intersection needs a crossing guard to help students on the way home from school, as the crossing isย known for being hazardous, according to WBAL.
