Construction-Related Fire Out At Patapsco High School: Officials

DUNDALK, MD — Smoke from the roof drew firefighters to Patapsco High School Friday, according to Baltimore County fire officials. While authorities said there was no fire, a community member showed a photo that did in fact show flames on the roof of the school in the 8100 block of Wise Avenue Friday morning.

The Baltimore County Fire Department later clarified that contractors had extinguished the fire, which originated in a tar pot, before crews arrived.

One crew put extra water on the area, while another checked to ensure the fire had not spread to the building.

By 9:10 a.m., firefighters said they were clearing the scene.
