11 People Apply For District 30 School Board Seat

A commission will consider 11 applications for the vacant District 30 seat on the county Board of Education.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The School Board Appointment Commission of Anne Arundel County received 11 applications for the vacant District 30 seat on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County by Friday’s noon deadline.

The following people submitted applications:

  • Serpil Gulsen of Annapolis
  • Mohammed Hussain of Annapolis
  • Robert Leib of Harwood
  • Raymond Leone of Edgewater
  • Jeffrey Macris of Annapolis
  • Kathleen McQuade of Annapolis
  • Regina Miles of Annapolis
  • Jessica Quincosa of Riva
  • James Schneider of Edgewater
  • Erin Snell of Annapolis
  • Wade Winkler of Riva

The 13-member commission is charged with appointing individuals to fill vacancies on the Board of Education as the Board transitions from an entirely appointed Board to one that is entirely elected.
The Commission will announce a candidate interview schedule when that schedule has been determined. By law, the Commission must hold at least two public hearings before voting to select a candidate.

All meetings will take place in the Board Room of Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.

Commission meetings are open to the public and televised live on AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon. High definition broadcasts can be seen on Channel 996 on Comcast, Channel 496 on Broadstripe, and 1961 on Verizon. Meetings are also broadcast live on the internet here.
