2 Injured in Weekend Accidents Near Davidsonville

Rescuers were called to separate crashes early Saturday; two drivers suffered serious injuries in the accidents.

Two people were seriously injured in separate accidents about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the Davidsonville area, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

The first accident was reported just before 5:30 a.m. at Route 214 and Riva Road near Lothian. Responders found a 21-year-old man who had been involved in a serious crash; a friend of the victim was trying to take him to the hospital and called 911 after realizing the seriousness of his injuries.

Paramedics took the patient to the trauma center at Prince George’s Hospital Center with serious injuries.

Just after 5:30 a.m. a single-vehicle accident was reported near Davidsonville Road and Nucci Way. Rescuers had to extricate the 34-year-old driver, who was trapped in the car. The man was taken to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police helicopter with serious injuries.
