2 Men Injured After Car Strikes Pole In Lothian: Officials
Two men were seriously hurt April 6 when their vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Lothian, Anne Arundel County Fire officials say.
LOTHIAN, MD — Two men were seriously hurt and flown to a trauma center April 6 when their vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Lothian, Anne Arundel County Fire officials say. The accident happened just before 5 p.m. on northbound Route 4 (Southern Maryland Boulevard) between Fishers Station Road and Upper Pindell Road.
The 61-year-old male driver and his 42-year-old male passenger were both trapped in the vehicle, according to a fire department news release. Firefighters freed the men in about 20 minutes. Phone and cable lines were down and the pole fell across the front of the vehicle.
Authorities say the driver had injuries that were critical, but not believed to be life-threatening and the passenger suffered serious injuries. A Maryland State Police helicopter landed near the scene to fly both patients to the Trauma Center at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center
