3 Kids Severely Hurt When Car Spins Off Road In Lothian: Police
Anne Arundel County Police have released the names of the drivers involved in a crash that injred three Lothian children.

LOTHIAN, MD — Three Lothian children were severely injured when the 2002 Honda Accord they were riding in was involved in a crash that sent it off Southern Maryland Blvd (Rt 4) at Lower Pindell Road in Lothian. Anne Arundel County Police say the two-vehicle accident happened just before 5 p.m. on Nov. 2, injuring both drivers, along with the children, who were all in the back seat of the Honda.
The Accord driven by Diana Ruiz Luengas, 29, of the 100 block of Lyons Den Court in Lothian was northbound on Southern Maryland Boulevard and attempted to turn left and cross over the southbound travel lanes onto Lower Pindell Road. Police say Luengas' car was struck by a southbound 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by Robert Michael Morris Jr., 24, of Portersville, Pennsylvania.
Investigators say the Pontiac struck the Honda on the passenger rear door, which caused the Honda to spin and leave the road.

Luengas suffered minor injuries. Three small children in the rear seat of her Honda — ages 10, 7 and 3 — suffered severe injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

The preliminary cause of the crash was Luengas failing to yield the right of way, officers said. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and will be reviewed by the state's attorney.
