3 People Seriously Injured In Head-On Collision: Officials
A 44-year-old woman and her 14-year-old passenger were flown to separate hospitals following a head-on collision near West River Tuesday.
WEST RIVER, MD — Three people were seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday night at 5366A Muddy Creek Road near West River. When Anne Arundel County firefighters arrived on the scene at approximately 6:45 p.m., they found a pickup truck on its roof, but the 24-year-old man driving the vehicle was able to climb out on his own. The SUV involved in the accident crashed into a guardrail and the 44-year-old woman driving it was trapped. It took approximately 20 minutes for her to be extricated.
The driver and her 14-year-old female passenger were taken to the Carrie Weedon Science Center where they were then flown by medevac helicopter to Medstar Washington Hospital Center and Children’s National Hospital, respectively. Paramedics drove the 24-year-old man to the trauma center at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center.
