4 Injured In Lothian Crash: Fire Department

Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said four people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident early Monday.

LOTHIAN, MD — Two people suffered serious injuries Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lothian, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Firefighters were called to the accident in the 300 block of Mount Zion Marlboro Road, between Solomons Island Road and Greenock Road, just before 6 a.m.

Responders found a two-vehicle accident with no occupants trapped, as was initially reported to emergency dispatchers, but two injured victims. A Maryland State Police medevac helicopter was asked to land near the scene for transport.

Officials say the passenger of each vehicle, a 66-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, were flown by helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Paramedics took the drivers of both vehicles to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved in the crash, or a cause for the accident.
