The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the 34-year-old man as Keith Whitley Haines, who was driving a 1999 Freightliner FL70.

Police said early findings indicate Haines was driving northbound on Swamp Circle Road when he was unable to negotiate a curve, a move that caused the vehicle to go off the roadway and hit several wooden poles.

The force of the crash, according to police, saw Haines ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

An investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
