ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A 46-year-old Edgewater woman was accused of masturbating while on a Miami-bound flight last month.
An incident report provided to Patch by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office identified the woman as Katy Inzer. It stated the incident took place Sept. 11 on an American Airlines flight from Baltimore to Miami.
Deputies were dispatched to meet the incoming flight at Miami International Airport around 11 p.m.
Moments after landing, a flight attendant told responding deputies that Inzer "began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds" about 20 minutes after taking off from Baltimore.
The flight attendant had been alerted to Inzer's behavior by a passenger who witnessed her remove her pants while she was in her seat.
The incident report states Inzer put her pants back on after being confronted by the flight attendant and "subsequently fell asleep for the remainder of the flight."
Deputies who interviewed Inzer said in the report that she did not recall anything that occurred on the flight since she had fallen asleep. Inzer did inform investigators she "had several drinks before boarding" since her flight was delayed by two hours.
Officials described Inzer in the report as having blood shot eyes and "a strong odor of alcohol beverage."
No further action was taken by the deputies, although the case was forwarded to the FBI.
An FBI spokesperson told Patch that the agency does not comment on ongoing cases.
Patch has reached out to American Airlines for comment.
