LOTHIAN, MD — A 61-year-old man was killed in a head-on, two-car collision in the Lothian area, police said Wednesday.
Anne Arundel County Police identified the man as Joseph Chester Clovis, of Shady Side.
The crash was reported Tuesday shortly after 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of West Bay Front Road and Fishers Station Road, police said in a release.
At the scene, authorities determined that a 19-year-old driving a 2019 Ford F150 crossed a double yellow line and collided with the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Clovis.
Police said the Ford truck was traveling westbound on West Bay Front Road when it crashed into the Hyundai in the eastbound lane.
The teenager, who is in stable condition, was taken by helicopter to a local hospital. Officials did not identify the driver but said they were from the Tracys Landing area.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
