HARWOOD, MD — An Annapolis driver died May 31 when his car veered off a road, went airborne and slammed into trees, Anne Arundel County Police said. Myron Pindell, 51, of the 200 block of Gross Avenue in Annapolis, crashed about 11:25 a.m. Friday on Muddy Creek Road near Lansdale Road in Harwood.

Authorities say Pindell was southbound in a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria when the car crossed the center line, went into a drainage ditch on the left side of the road, briefly went airborne across a driveway and stuck several trees.

Pindell was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.

The primary cause of the crash was the Ford failing to drive in a single lane, police said. Speed does not appear to be a factor. Whether drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash is unknown pending toxicology results.
