Applications Open for Anne Arundel County Board of Education Vacancies

Residents have until Jan. 6 to apply for two seats open on the Anne Arundel County Board of Education.

The School Board Nominating Commission of Anne Arundel County is accepting applications for two vacancies on the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, one representing an at large seat (Pruski vacancy) and the other representing District 33 (Brandenburg vacancy).

School board candidate applications will be accepted by the commission until close of business on Tuesday, Jan. 6, by mail or email. Applications and detailed timeline information can be found at the commission’s website http://www.aacps.org/sbnc/sbnc.asp.

Candidates will also need to complete a financial disclosure form and be prepared to appear before the commission at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Board Room at the Dr. Carol Sheffey Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.

A second meeting of the commission will occur on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the same location. The commission will receive public testimony, as well as hold a deliberation and voting session at the second meeting.
