Arrest Made in Lothian Robbery Despite Delay from Language Barrier
Anne Arundel County Police say a Lothian clerk didn't call to report a robbery; the owner called two days later. A suspect is in custody.

LOTHIAN, MD — An arrest has been made in a Lothian convenience store robbery, even though a language barrier caused a two-day delay in the report of the crime to police.
Anne Arundel County Police were called Jan. 4 to the BWA Convenience Store at 5488 Southern Maryland Blvd. for a robbery report. The store owner told police that the robbery occurred Jan. 2, but because of a language barrier, the clerk failed to report the hold-up.
The clerk -- using the owner as an interpreter – told police that a white man, about 5’3”, entered the store with a handgun, and demanded money. After the robber took an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the store in an unknown direction.
