Boy Scouts Pack 115 Hosts Pinewood Derby Jan. 18 In Davidsonville
The Pinewood Derby Impound Night will be Jan. 17 followed by the fun competitive race on Jan. 18.
DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Crofton Pack 115 will be holding a Pinewood Derby Impound Night Jan. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at CWES Media Center followed by the official Pinewood Derby Jan. 18 starting at noon. The fun begins at noon at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville.
The Pinewood Derby is considered to be one of the most popular events in Cub Scouting. During the derby, Cub Scouts race small wooden cars down a sloped track. They are powered by gravity only. Each Derby car is built by a Cub Scout from a kit to keep the competitive field even.
