The Anne Arundel County Literacy Council (AACLC) will host its 6th-annual fundraiser book fair at Annapolis Mall. The fair will feature 1,000s of gently used books, including children’s books, cookbooks, bestsellers, romance novels, memoirs, mysteries, thrillers, historical fiction, and much more. Books will be priced at $2 for hardbacks, $1 for paperbacks, and $5 for new &amp; notable books of 2025/26. Shoppers can fill a special edition Literacy Council tote bag with books for $25. PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, checks, and cash will be accepted. Also at the book fair — gift basket raffles and more. In support of the event, Discoveries Library will host activities inside the library during book fair hours. Proceeds from the book fair will support the Council’s free adult tutoring programs in Anne Arundel County.

Join artists from the Muddy Creek Artists Guild (MCAG) for a behind-the-scenes art experience during the 4th Annual Studio Tour.&nbsp;This popular, self-guided driving tour is free and open to the public who are invited to visit any &nbsp;of the 12&nbsp;participating studio locations throughout southern Anne Arundel County on September 28 and 29, 2019, 11 AM–5 PM both days. Each studio’s “open house” will host one or more artists and offer visitors a chance to learn about each artist’s work from the artists themselves. The studios will have a selection of original art and prints for sale, and some will also offer hands-on demonstrations and art-making activities. A free illustrated tour guidebook is available to download on our website.
