Celebrate Edgewater Acupuncture Opening with Free Treatments

Edgewater Acupuncture will celebrate the grand opening of a second location in Columbia on Sunday, Sept. 28.

From 2 to 4 p.m., the business will offer free acupuncture, food and drink, door prizes and treatment package giveaways.

Acupuncture treatments help a variety of ailments, including chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, infertility and migraines.

“We are very excited about bringing acupuncture to Columbia at a price the average person can afford,” owner Meaghan Massella Walker, a licensed acupuncturist, said in a news release. “It’s been a dream of mine to make affordable acupuncture available to my hometown for a long time.”

Typical fees for acupuncture range from $60 to $150, Walker said.

As a member of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture, a co-op of affordable acupuncture clinics around the country, Edgewater Acupuncture offers treatments to children and adults based on a sliding scale of $15 to $35, based on what patients can afford. No income verification is required.

The business first opened in April 2010 in Edgewater. Since opening, it has provided over 14,000 treatments.

The new location in Columbia is located at 8950 Route 108 (Old Annapolis Road), Suite 113.
